I am Free Forever from Condemnation - Romans 8:1
by Sheila Weddle

What makes you feel condemned? How many time a day do you condemn yourself or someone else?

Romans 8:1 says, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

What does the word condemnation really mean? "Guilt, shame, accusation, and unfit for use."

When we receive Jesus as our personal Lord we are redeemed from shame, guilt, accusations, and being unfit for use. Because we are in Him. This is a promise that is in the Bible and is part of our salvation that belongs to us. We do not have to be tormented by sins and mistakes.

What does it mean to be in Christ Jesus?

He took the shame and guilt and we received His righteousness. Wow, what an exchange!

Many times the sins and the results of the sins are continually with us. But with God's grace He turns around and makes the worst things become stepping stones toward the good that He wants in our lives.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." His plans and thoughts are good. He is not thinking bad thoughts toward you.

Condemnation is a tool that the devil uses against us. He uses it in our minds, memories, and emotions. We know that Jesus forgives and completely cleanses with his blood and loves us unconditionally. Then we take God's Word, which are our promises, and use it against the devil.

Ps.103:3 [Amplified Bible] says, "Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases," You are forgiven. There is now NO condemnation on you. He poured out His blood. When His blood was shed forgivness took place. He loves you and He is not condemning you.

Romans 8:33: "Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies." When God saved you through Jesus Christ he called you justified (just as if you never sinned).

Romans 8:34: "Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us." Paul tells us that Jesus is our intercessor. He praying for you.

Romans 8:35: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Nothing will ever separate you from Christ's love. He never gets mad at you, He never accuses you and He never remembers the past that is forgiven.

Let your confession be "I am redeemed from condemnation because I am in Christ Jesus. Jesus is my intercessor and He loves me all the time."

Father God I pray that each one of these precious people are set free from the torment of condemnation in Jesus Name.

To the Glory of God,
